An honest no bullshit look at the advantages and challenges of running a product based business in the WordPress ecosystem. I’ll share comparisons to our agency business (Modern Tribe) both in workflow and in cost/profit analysis, and talk through why we love/hate both client services and products. I’ll tell you a harrowing story of how we almost sank the ship, and how that informs our ongoing product development strategies. I’ll squeeze in some of the marketing things that we’ve done that work, and I’d bee an idiot to not mention the role that support plays in our success.
